Caught in a Pickle

So as some of you know, I started this blog as an assignment for a class I am taking. Unfortunately, I created this website, designed it, wrote one blog post, and ignored it the rest of the semester till it was to late to fix it. I ended up failing the class, putting me in a tough spot. I have to decide if I want to retreat back or if I want to push on and keep going forward. If you haven't gotten the pun yet, I'm talking about a pickle in baseball. When you get in a pickle in baseball, you have to decide whether you want to just play it safe and retreat back to where you started, or to push the limits and try whatever you can to get to the next bag. It is a lot like the position I am in now. I need to decide whether I want to take the defeat and retreat back to where I came from, or I can move forward and do anything I can go to the next station and the next part of my life. Baseball can be a great metaphor for life. In baseball and life, you make mistakes. It is up to you to decide whether you want to be defined by your mistakes or how you learned from them to make yourself better. Do you want to be known as the one who always struck out because you could hit a breaking ball? Or would you rather be the one who made an adjustment and made yourself better, learning from previous mistakes.
